My Coaching Program

(Currently not accepting students. If you want to be on the wait-list, please email support)

Please read everything on this page and the FAQ before asking me any questions. If you talk to me and ask questions where answers can be found below and the FAQ, I will assume you are not serious. Pre-payment is also a sign of seriousness. These statements may seem obnoxious but after receiving lots of random IMs asking questions that can be easily be found, you would too. There's a reason why this page and the FAQ were created. Below is the outline of my coaching program.

1. Session 1: You record a video of your session for 40 minutes with your thought processes. I will look over the video and provide feedbacks. The main goal for this session is for me to understand how you think about the game. Only then will I know what are your strengths and what weaknesses we can work on.

Some students play and provide commentaries up to 4 tables. 4 tables allow more interesting hands and situations. However, the amount of tables may make it hard for students to explain their thought processes in depth. For this reason, some enjoy recording 2 or 3 tables. After you are done recording, please save the file in .wmv format to save both of us headaches. You can create an account at megaupload/rapidshare/sendspace to upload the video and send the link to me.

2. Session 2: We will schedule a sweating session. I live in California and am in the Pacific Time Zone. You will need TeamViewer so I can see your screen and you will need Skype so we can talk. Talking is more efficient than chatting but since it's your hours, we can do whatever you want.

In this session, we will have a fun time taking down uncontested pots and I'll use the word ranges every other time.

3. Session 3: I'll go over a topic which I think is vital to improve one's hand reading skills. I call it, “Line Variations.” Poker has a set of finite decisions but often times, players don't try to understand all of the possible choices. We will explore different lines players take and what these lines mean. We will also go over the set of lines that you usually take and which lines you can add to your arsenal to improve your winrate. A few examples are river check-raise bluffs/values, donk-betting, and min-raising.

The main goal for this session is to encourage you to think outside the box. Here's a simple situation. 3/6nl 6-max. CO opens. You defend in the BB with 88. Flop is 2 5 A. You check-call. Turn is 9 and it goes check-check. River is a J and you check-fold to a river bet. Players do this all the time with the time without thinking about other alternatives. We will find out what those alternatives are.

4. Session 4: The game has become very aggressive so naturally, we will learn how to deal against aggressive players and how to play 3-bet pots in this session.

5. Session 5: We will have another sweating session. By now, you should see considerable improvement in your game. You can apply for more sessions if you like. If you have any feedbacks, feel free to comment. Don't hesitate to leave negative comments. Although my ego will get bruised, I know better than to not appreciate it.

6. Additional sessions: We will go more in-depth regarding bet-sizes, min-raises, combinatorics, 2, 3 barrelings and hand history discussion.

7. Hourly rate is $325. You'll get $125 off if you buy the 5-hours package so the total payment would be $1500. Based on past experiences, it is recommended that you buy the 5-hours package.

8. To get started, you should record a video of yourself playing and send me the link. I will look at the video once I receive the pre-payment. If you have any questions, please check out the FAQ.
