| The Irony |

Some people have been hating on us because we priced the book at $1850. They think we are too greedy and are insulting the public. Some people also said we are stupid because we could easily make more moneys pricing it at a lower amount. Those who purchased the book now want a price increase after reading the book. That just shows no matter what you do, there's going to be a group of people who's not going to be happy. I'm going to explain why it is in every poker player's interest that we charge as high as we can, even though it hurts our bottom lines more than anyone else. For the sake of discussion, pretend the player pool has 100 people and no one knows how to play well. Then come along a book and it is sold for $1000. 5 people take a risk and buy it. Next thing they know, they are killing the games and are raking in more chips than they can cash out. Now, imagine if the author price it at $500 and only 15 out of 100 people can buy it. They start killing the games but not as much as before because now they have to deal with each other. Some people cry foul and the author decide to price it at $250. Now, 50 out of 100 people can afford it and the next thing you know, the games become more grinding. From the above situation, the authors made more money by lowering the price and more people are happy but is it necessarily the best option? People have to realize the value of information has an inverse relationship with the amount of people knowing it. We could easily priced our book at $500 and sell 10x the amount we are selling at $1850. The problem is, if everyone has this book, then the edge we present to our readers are no longer there. Those in high school might as well cross off "professional poker player" on their lists of prospective careers. It is amazing how everyone forgot the aftermath of cheap training sites pricing and looks what it did to the games. Lastly, it is not possible to satisfy everyone. Thus, it was a no brainer to side with our readers who believed and supported us.
