| Grinding PLO, books update |
|
I have been in grind mode the last two weeks, averaging about 10 hours per day. I usually go into these withdrawal state after being away from the tables for a while. It does wonder for my game because it allows my mind to relax and kind of subconsciously put pieces of the puzzles together. I also play better because I actually want to play, instead of playing because I feel the need to log hands. I have never been one to play because I need to put X amount of hands in. During these two weeks, there's one phrase that's constantly on my mind. “I'm so tired right now. I can barely open my eyes. Let me rest a little and I'll play you this f'ing game all day long.” For those who don't know, it's from the famous isildur1. His willing to gamble and love for the game motivates me and rejuvenate some of the gamble I lost as I grow older. I feel great. While I'm playing, I'm constantly taking notes and thinking about every big hands and situations. I try to focus on every hand I play and put effort in trying to figure out what is the best line for a situation. I wish I can say I have such work ethic whenever I play. I guess I do have some of that work ethic since I'm doing it. But the main motivational factor is I plan on coming out with an advanced PLO book. Think “Let There Be Range,” but for PLO. I guess the title of the book can be “Let There Be OMAHAHA.” Ok, bad joke :) Anyway, being so conscious of what my every move is does wonder for my game. I know for sure I'm not writing this book, I wouldn't improve as fast and I wouldn't take as much notes. I highly recommend everyone to take notes like they are going to teach a student how to play a game. By doing so, you are constantly asking yourself why and what is the best play for a current situation. You will also go out of your way to be creative because we all have an ego and want to be known to be the best at what we do. Ok, maybe not for you since you're humble. But I'm guilty as charged! There is also another book in the work that will be finished before the advance PLO book. It's a psychology book and I'm positive it will help a lot of players, even for those who play 25/50+. It's like “Ace On The River,” but geared mostly to young people and online players. Sadly, I'm not experienced nor have enough game to write a chapter regarding sex. If there anything you guys like to me address, please leave a comment or email me. If I don't know the answer, I'll find someone who does. Happy holidays!
